Day 1- on becoming a Product Designer
Today marks the beginning of my journey into the Tech space- I am seriously hoping I am consistent. On a low, I opened this handle to keep track and be accountable so I really know when I am growing and see how far I have come. If you are such a serial inconsistent person like me you would understand.
A friend suggested a 100 days challenge and I hop-ed on it because I have a thing with inconsistency.
I hope it’s not a bother- please come along with me on this journey, correct me, share your early days experience, generally anything that would make this journey smooth-er please share and send me high fives lol because I know the ride is not going to be all soft lol.
Day 1 summary
Really was spent reading blogs I found myself reading the next hyperlink after another -there are so many resources out there on “How to be a product designer” everyone has something to say.
Eventually, I got down to start a course on Udacity ” Product Design” recommended by a sweet girl D- I should make a whole post about how she broke down product design to me -just know I love you and I am grateful for you.
I am still on the first chapter….
Lesson identified the types of Ideas
2.Me Too Ideas
4.Mission impossible ideas
The task also had learners identify the different idea types different Tech startups are running on.
Also, I learned the types of product Design- System, process, and Interface design
I discovered new design jargon like a prototype, wireframe and also noticed that the design process requires a whole lot of intuitiveness.
In summary sha at the core of design generally is problem-solving with a sprinkle of vibes and in sha Allah(God’s Grace)
I am hoping the following days are as great I really can’t wait to get down to the practical aspect -the actual designing.
I am anonymous for now- just call me the design rookie. That's on purpose may be to avoid pressure lol. Maybe just maybe at the end of the 100 days, I would do a grand reveal lol.
I would address names that come up by the first letter to keep them anonymous too.
If by chance you got to the end of this post, I am really grateful and I do not take it for granted.
Love and light-the Design rookie
